Gameweek 34 + Website Updates!

Welcome to The Matchday Digest, here is everything you need for Gameweek 34!

Another blank gameweek for many teams this weekend, so just 8 matches up on the graphic. Liverpool is the team which is projected to score the most goals in Gameweek 34 at 2.46 versus a poor Tottenham side. Just 1 point for Liverpool would win them the League Title.

Another note is that Bournemouth are projected to score almost 2 goals against Manchester United! With United just about getting 1 goal on average. In reality, it might even be lower than this as United are likely to play a much weaker squad to fully focus on the Europa League, something which my model does not take into account.

Liverpool is 75.1% likely to win against Tottenham and 10.3% likely to draw, meaning that we can roughly say that Liverpool are around 85.4% likely to pick up the Premier League title in that game.

To satisfy the nerves any Liverpool fans might still be feeling, below is a ‘How Many Sims Until’ for Arsenal to win the Premier League Title, so you can see just how unprobable something like this is to happen…

Yes. It took over 100,000 simulations! 111,678, which is around a 0.0009% chance. Liverpool would have to lose all remaining games and lose a +10 goal difference advantage.

But technically, it’s still possible with this simulation showing how the table looked in this craziest of scenarios.

Website Updates!

First of all, the waitlist is here! Over 2,100 people have already signed up, so make sure you get your spot as we are really close to getting out a Beta!

Alot of backend updates this week, so not a lot of front end to show, but the new pages created for the Premier League have been ported over to the Championship!

My favourite feature continues to be the plots, which shows Leeds’ chance of coming 2nd or higher (So the chance of achieving automatic promotion) We can see that part in late March, where they almost slipped up!

Look at how crazy the Matrix for the Championship was before a ball had even been kicked! Almost everyone finished inside 10,000 simulations. What a fall off from Luton Town though…
