Gameweek 2 Preview and Projections

Fusion-sim.com (Premier League Fixture Difficulty)
Arsenal fall from having the hardest run in the next 6 gameweeks to the 5th hardest, while Aston Villa now have, on paper, the easiest set of upcoming fixtures. They will be looking to score their first goal of the Premier League campaign against a Brentford side who looked shaky to say the least against Nottingham Forest
Some small changes in the Premier League title race probabilities,

Fusion-sim.com (Premier League Title Race)
Liverpool dropped 2.0% to 35.0% after the model was clearly not fully convinced by their display against Bournemouth. Therefore, both Manchester City and Arsenal gain small ground with Chelsea falling further back after failing to beat Crystal Palace.

Fusion-sim.com (Premier League Relegation Battle)
Huge swings already however, are appearing in the Relegation Battle projections. These are because last weekend was the first time the model saw Premier League action for the newly promoted teams, and so its opinion on them may change rapidly.
It has been done from both Leeds and Sunderland, with them becoming 25.2% and 17.1% more likely to survive. West Ham, on the other hand, took the brunt of that, with them becoming 22.7% more likely to be relegated. The model is seemingly unhappy with their mauling by Sunderland.

The model, as expected, has Arsenal scoring the most expected goals this weekend, up at 2.81! Gyökeres will be very likely to get his first Arsenal goal if this is accurate.

Staying with Arsenal, they are projected to beat Leeds in 88.7% of simulations. That’s probably the highest we will see for a while until one of the big 3 plays Sunderland at home! (Even I feel like that’s a little too high!)
FusionSim 1.4 Sneak Peek!
I should be shipping the next big update to FusionSim today (Friday 22nd August 2025). Here’s what is in store!
Time Machine
This is, at least in my opinion, the coolest thing so far on FusionSim. You can simulate any Premier League season, with custom team ratings and or model variables to change history. Getting a single-season output or matrix view of how likely teams were to finish where.
Not to mention but we also have all the correct logos for the period too!

Soon I hope to have this into a How Many Sims Until Retro version too! Speaking of…
How Many Sims Until… (Compute Mode)
You’ll now be able to run your own ‘How many sims until…’ scenarios in the compute tool and share them too!
It works with all the leagues we currently have.
There is limits on this, Free users can search for anything up to 10,000 sims, Pro up to 100,000 sims and Pro+ well, technically, only time can stop you as it’s unlimited!
(Please be careful if you’re doing huge batches on mobile, though, your phone will get hot!)

How Many Times in X Sims…
Similar to my viral series on how many times in 1,000,000 sims. You’ll now be able to do this and watch the progress tick up in real time!

Similar to before, there are limits based on your tier, but 10,000 is more than enough to get a good idea of how likely the events are!

Fixture Difficulty (All-Leagues)
This one is pretty self-explanatory. The free fixture difficulty viewer will be available for all our current leagues.
